About us

West Wickham Methodist Church (WWMC) was founded in the 1930s. We're a friendly, faith-filled congregation and we love to welcome new people to worship with us and join in the general life of our church.
Our circuit superintendent minister, Rev Alex Terrett provides pastoral oversight and leadership and our local minister, Deacon Laura MacBean, is tasked with community engagement. Both ministers lead services regularly.
We're available for baptisms, naming ceremonies, weddings and funerals. Our church is home for a range of clubs and events that serve our local community including Scouts, Brownies and Guides. It's also available for you to hire for meetings or regular events, depending on availabilty. We have an alcohol-free policy in line with UK Methodism.
We're a member of Churches Together in West Wickham and are part of Bromley Methodist Circuit in the London District of the Methodist Church in Britain.

Causes we support
![]() Thanks to the generosity of our congregation and community groups, we often support a number of charities each year. These include:
|
Flowers for Covid:
|
Murewa Methodist Church, Zimbabwe:
|
Community outreach
Our church also supports our wider local community including:
- hosting Hawes Down Primary School's Year 6 leavers' assembly
- hosting the 8th West Wickham Scouts, 6th West Wickham Brownies and 6th West Wickham Guides
- hiring out our rooms on a regular or occasional basis for meetings and clubs (subject to availability and in line with Methodist policies)
Our future
We've had to pause plans for a major redevelopment project to benefit both our congregation and the local community due to Covid-19. We will continue our meetings and planning for the future when the COVID-19 crisis has passed.
